Easter 2010

This year for Easter we went down to spend it with my parents in Bountiful. We went down on Saturday and went over to my Grandma's house. All the men went to the Priesthood session together and the girls stayed home and had fun. When we got back to my parents I was getting Isabelle to bed and I fell asleep! I think Isabelle fell asleep too. So Kevin had to get everything ready by himself. He kept coming in to ask me questions and to tell me to get up, which I faintly remember...I was so out of it! He, along with the Easter Bunny, did a great job with Easter.

The girls both got swimming suits and sunglasses in their baskets, along with lots and lots of eggs and candy.
Isabelle just couldn't resist trying on her swim suit. After she had it on she said she was ready to go to the beach and she was serious. Too bad it snowed on Easter! She was quite disappointed she couldn't wear her swimming suit outside.

My Dad got tickets for me and Kevin to go to the morning session of conference. I had never been to conference. It was a really neat experience. I loved having conference on Easter. So many of the messages had to deal with Easter and with the atonement and resurrection of Christ. I loved this conference. I think messages so centered on the family and on the plan of salvation, which is so relevant in today's world. I just loved the messages and it was wonderful to be able to attend one of the sessions.
I spent like 2 days last week making skirts for the girls for Easter. I thought they would be easier than they actually were. The work was worth it because, at least I think, they turned out so cute. Lillian, however, refused to wear hers. So this is her Easter outfit...
Thankfully Isabelle is still young enough that she lets me dress her most of the time, plus she wanted to wear her skirt. Doesn't she look cute? And again, by the way, I made that skirt.

For Easter dinner my Aunt Carolyn and Uncle Daren and their family from Denver, along with my Grandparents came over to my parents. Here is my cousin Mekelle, her husband Jake and their baby Bridgette and Lillian. Our families have such a great time together, it was great to spend the holiday with them.
My brother Michael and his fiance Sarah came up from Provo. Aren't they cute together?

Here is my cousin Meredith with Bridgette and my Uncle Daren. My pics of Aunt Carolyn and Ethan didn't turn out - they were all blurry, but I love you guys too. They are just so much fun, I can't even tell you.

Mullen Girls' Weekend 2010

Mick, Kelly Melissa and baby Myles, Kris, Me, and Mary

Every year the girls in the Mullen family get together for a weekend to do a little shopping. Well not a little shopping we shop and shop and shop. This year we met at Salt Lake and shopped there for a while. Then we went and ate dinner at P.F. Changs, oh it was so good. We didn't get done eating until almost 10:00 so we just went back to the hotel to eat some more and chat. We stayed up until like 1:30 and then we woke up at 7:00. Needless to say we were all a little tired.

The next day we headed up to Park City to the outlets where we shopped some more. We stopped for lunch at our favorite spot, the Loco Lizard. My mouth is watering just thinking about it! That is where we took the picture. After some more shopping we went home.

It is fun to leave the kids and our husbands home and do a little shopping. I really had a great time this year. We laughed so hard there was a few times I almost peed my pants. I just kept thinking how embarrassing it would be if I did, so I didn't. Thank goodness. Thank you ladies for the fun time. Good thing we only do this once a year because I spent a little too much!

Island Park February 2010

Every winter we make the trek to Island Park to visit Kevin's parents. This year right before we left Isabelle had a little accident. She was jumping on the couch, which seriously Isabelle? When she had to get staples in her head it was because she was jumping on the couch and cut her head open. This time she was jumping and hit the wall with her eye. Kevin got to her first and her eye brow looked like it had a grape popping out of it! It freaked me out. I called the nurse to see what we should do. After she told me what to do she asked me my child's name. When I told her Isabelle she said, "Oh, we know Isabelle here". Of course you do.

Here she is all tuckered out. The swelling eventually went down and then it started to turn purple.
The girls and I love to sit in the sled while Kevin pulls us with the snowmobile. It's like tubing behind a boat but in the snow. And it's cold, and you wear a lot more clothes.

Looking good Isabelle. The snow sometimes sprays up in your eyes, hence the goggles.
We took the girls on a little snowmobile ride to the river. On our way we went over some hills. I kind of hate hills because I know you can get stuck, so I asked Kevin to take over for me, but he wouldn't, and I got stuck. Really stuck. Kevin freaked and I laughed at him. Which, I know was probably very irritating, but it was kind of funny. Plus Kevin never really gets freaked out too often so when he does it's kind of entertaining. After awhile we got it unstuck and continued on our ride.

After snowmobiling it was time to sled. Jim and Mary have this great hill close to their house. Not too big, but just big enough.

Nice shiner. That's what everyone kept telling her. Then they would look at us like, what's the story? We were like, if you knew her, you'd understand.

We had a great time visiting Jim and Mary in Island Park. It was fun to get out into the snow and have some fun. Sometimes I forget how much fun the snow can be. It was very different from California, but still fun. Thanks Jim and Mary for all your hospitality and for the pigs in a blanket; one of my guilty pleasures.
