Family Pictures

A few weeks ago we had Eileen take our family pictures. We went up Smithfield Canyon, which thankfully was still beautiful with the all the fall leaves.

We need some advice...We can't decide between the next two pictures as to which one we should put in our big frame as our main family picture. Let us know what you think!
Option 1

Option 2

Eileen being the nice and sweet photographer that she is brought this lollipop for the girls to share as a treat for their good behavior. We used it as bribery for the entire session!
Thank you Eileen! We love the pictures and you were so patient, which was difficult at times we know, but we really appreciated it. Thank you for the awesome session.

The Pumpkin Walk and Halloween

This year Isabelle's preschool class did a scene for the Pumpkin Walk. They did the Magic School Bus and it turned out so well. She had already been with her class so she directed us right to it, even through all the snow.

Here is the pumpkin she painted of herself. It is even dressed in a pair of her clothes.

She was so proud of the scene her preschool had done. It all looked fantastic, it was fun to see it.
She kept telling us that at the end there was a nice witch who gives you cookies... we found her and her cookies, in a nice, heated, little barn.

They couldn't resist putting their faces in the cut-outs and don't they look adorable?
The Halloween week of fun was not so fun at our house. Lillian came down with a cold and pink eye on Wednesday so she missed the ward Halloween carnival. Then she missed her Halloween party at school on Thursday. We were so hoping that she would be better on Friday so she could wear her costume to school, but she wasn't and she missed out on yet another fun thing. It was really a sad week. She had been looking forward to it for a while and she had to miss out on all the fun! On Friday we did go to Kevin's work and go trick or treating. That was fun and they got a lot of candy.
Then on Friday my parents and Michael and Sarah came up for the night. We ate dinner and played this really fun dice game called 5 thousand. It was a riot! We laughed our guts out.

They also brought Annie the puppy with them. She got into some mud outside and had to take a bath in the kitchen sink. Isn't she adorable?
Then we carved our pumpkins...

Kevin said the pumpkin he carved was the only thing he was able to gut that year. Get it? Because he didn't get an elk or a deer. Poor Kevin. Sure love you Kevin.

We all love Annie, especially the girls. While we were playing the dice game again, Isabelle took some time to snuggle with Annie.

Doesn't Annie look like a Boyd's Bear?
We went to lunch with everyone and then they headed home and we went to get ready for Halloween!
As you can see Lillian was still not feeling well. She so wanted to go trick-or-treating but she just didn't feel very good. She was a sad Pocahontas.

Kevin jokingly said he wasn't taking a crying Indian trick-or-treating. When he said this she just dissolved into tears. It was so sad but kind of funny.

She looked cute even if she wasn't too happy. Thankfully Isabelle was happy.

The weather didn't cooperate that evening, so we bundled them up before they hit the sidewalks.

When they got home 45 minutes later, they were so done. Lillian had ditched the wig and Isabelle had already started digging into her candy. Poor Lillian had a fever later that night and she threw up all over me. Now Isabelle has a cold. It was just not a good night for them!
Hopefully they feel better soon.

Deer Hunt

Have you noticed there are two posts with hunting in the title this fall? I have...Well Kevin drew out for a deer tag in the south region of the state along with Todd and Mick. We headed down to Paragoonah (yes I know it's a lovely name) and headed east into the mountains. We camped with Todd and Mick and Kevin's parents.

I didn't find my camera until Sunday so the pictures begin then.

On Sunday we drove to Bryce Canyon with Jim and Mary. I had never been before and Kevin hadn't remembered going when he was young so we were excited to see it.

It is fabulous, breath-taking, gorgeous. I am so glad we were able to go! It was definitely my favorite part of the trip.

I mean look at it; gorgeous.

The girls loved it too!

We're inside the rock! The girls thought that was super cool.

After Bryce Canyon we headed back to the deer camp and carved pumpkins.

On Saturday Kevin took both the girls on a 4-wheeler ride, which of course they loved. Isabelle couldn't stay away from them after that.

The girls with Jim and Mary.

Pace, Jaygen, Jim, Isabelle, Lillian, Mary, and Briggs. The cousins sure had fun playing together.

After dark the pumpkins were lit. The kids were so proud of their pumpkins.

The next morning we woke up to snow! Like a blizzard! It was crazy. After Kevin and Todd got back we hurried and packed up and went home; deer-less. I felt terrible for Kevin. No elk and no deer. This was supposed to be the year of hunting for Kevin, which it was, but without any animals to bring home. Sorry Kevin. Don't worry we still love you.

Provo Park

The Friday of UEA my mom, the girls, and I went to Provo to spend some time with Michael and Sarah. We saw their very cute apartment, went to lunch, and then to the Kiwanis Park by the BYU campus. It was a really nice park. No playground, which was actually quite lovely.

Lillian pulled Annie all around the park.
Michael successfully taught the girls how to throw a frisbee!

We decorated cupcakes for Halloween and brought them to the park. Isabelle of course dug right in.

Who can resist a chocolate cupcake?

It was a beautiful day. Thanks Michael and Sarah we had a wonderful time!
