CAMPING

After a busy summer of no camping we decided to finally take out the trailer and brave 'the great outdoors'. We took the girls hiking a little before we went camping. We started singing 'We're Going on a Bear Hunt'. The song scared Lillian because it made her think of bears. Isabelle was walking around singing 'We're not scared! We're not scared!' While Lillian was scared to death. She asked why we went into the mountains and Kevin said to enjoy nature. She said, 'There's nature by our house. Why did we have to come all the way into the mountains!' It was all very funny. Isabelle was singing at the top of her lungs, Lillian was whimpering and clenching my hand, Kevin was feeling like he was a failure as a father, and I was laughing. How could you not? Needless to say we were a little apprehensive about the whole camping thing.
They loved the whole camping thing; thankfully. I don't know what Kevin would have done if they didn't.
We tried biking with them but it turns out, it's hard to pull a bike trailer up a mountain trail. So we ended up walking...
Our lovely hike up 'steep canyon' turned out to be incredibly steep; like crazy steep.
The girls found a butterfly that landed on Kevin's stomach.
This is at the end of our hike.
