The Pumpkin Walk and Halloween

This year Isabelle's preschool class did a scene for the Pumpkin Walk. They did the Magic School Bus and it turned out so well. She had already been with her class so she directed us right to it, even through all the snow.

Here is the pumpkin she painted of herself. It is even dressed in a pair of her clothes.

She was so proud of the scene her preschool had done. It all looked fantastic, it was fun to see it.
She kept telling us that at the end there was a nice witch who gives you cookies... we found her and her cookies, in a nice, heated, little barn.

They couldn't resist putting their faces in the cut-outs and don't they look adorable?
The Halloween week of fun was not so fun at our house. Lillian came down with a cold and pink eye on Wednesday so she missed the ward Halloween carnival. Then she missed her Halloween party at school on Thursday. We were so hoping that she would be better on Friday so she could wear her costume to school, but she wasn't and she missed out on yet another fun thing. It was really a sad week. She had been looking forward to it for a while and she had to miss out on all the fun! On Friday we did go to Kevin's work and go trick or treating. That was fun and they got a lot of candy.
Then on Friday my parents and Michael and Sarah came up for the night. We ate dinner and played this really fun dice game called 5 thousand. It was a riot! We laughed our guts out.

They also brought Annie the puppy with them. She got into some mud outside and had to take a bath in the kitchen sink. Isn't she adorable?
Then we carved our pumpkins...

Kevin said the pumpkin he carved was the only thing he was able to gut that year. Get it? Because he didn't get an elk or a deer. Poor Kevin. Sure love you Kevin.

We all love Annie, especially the girls. While we were playing the dice game again, Isabelle took some time to snuggle with Annie.

Doesn't Annie look like a Boyd's Bear?
We went to lunch with everyone and then they headed home and we went to get ready for Halloween!
As you can see Lillian was still not feeling well. She so wanted to go trick-or-treating but she just didn't feel very good. She was a sad Pocahontas.

Kevin jokingly said he wasn't taking a crying Indian trick-or-treating. When he said this she just dissolved into tears. It was so sad but kind of funny.

She looked cute even if she wasn't too happy. Thankfully Isabelle was happy.

The weather didn't cooperate that evening, so we bundled them up before they hit the sidewalks.

When they got home 45 minutes later, they were so done. Lillian had ditched the wig and Isabelle had already started digging into her candy. Poor Lillian had a fever later that night and she threw up all over me. Now Isabelle has a cold. It was just not a good night for them!
Hopefully they feel better soon.

Poor Lillian! They look adorable in their costumes. I always hated wearing a coat over my costume as a kid.

Lillian's costume was so cute! Too bad she didn't get to show it off ....

I love Annie too. And I was thinking she looked like a Boyd's bear even before you said that!!

That is so sad about Lillian! Halloween is the best holiday as a kid! It couldn't be fun to miss out on everything. I also loved that you explained Kevin's joke about the gutting... hee hee! You married such a mountain man:)
