Island Park and the 4th of July 2011

For the 4th of July weekend we headed up to Island Park to visit Kevin's parents and to enjoy the beautiful outdoors. The girls started off the weekend with a boat ride with Kevin and Grandpa Jim on the river by their house. After the boat ride, Jim, Kevin and I went down to Ashton to do some more fishing. Because when you are in Island Park, or as Jim likes to call it - the Mecca of Fly Fishing - you fish.
The river was just beautiful. We all at least hooked a fish and I think we all thoroughly enjoyed ourselves.
The next day Lillian woke up with the stomach flu. No fun for her, poor thing. Her and I stayed home at Jim and Mary's that day where we watched a lot of TV. Thankfully it only lasted one day.

On Sunday we left early and drove to Jackson Hole.
We stopped on our way to Jackson to capture the beautiful Tetons, which didn't really show up all that well in the picture. You can kind of see them in the background...
The Snake River in Jackson was huge! Neither of us had ever seen it so big.
Of course we had to get a picture by the arch of antlers. The girls couldn't believe how many antlers there were!
After viewing the sights in Jackson and some delicious pastries...we drove to Teton National Park.
Now you can see the Tetons.
Isabelle found this giant rock on a little hike we went on and tried to climb up it, then she demanded we take her picture on it.
Lillian didn't quite feel like her normal self yet, but she sure was a trooper.
After we went through Teton National Park we looped through Yellowstone on our way back to Island Park. It was a big day of driving but we saw some beautiful sights!
The next afternoon we went home to celebrate the 4th. The girls and I hadn't ever been to the fireworks in Lewiston so we decided to try them out.
With the exception of Lillian's illness we had a very fun weekend. We love spending the 4th of July in Island Park. There is so much to see and do!
