Summer Review

I finally decided to blog. I know it's taken me a while but I finally am doing it. I thought I would start with a summer review. We had a busy but very fun summer so here is a quick preview.

Starting with the end of May we have first Isabelle's birthday and then Lillian's birthday 4 days later. I know amazing planning right? It makes May feel a little like the busyness of December because we have my birthday, then Mother's Day then the two Isabelle's and Lillian's birthdays all in one fun month. Let's just say it is one big party all month long.

We had a family party on Memorial Day because Isabelle's birthday happened to land on Memorial Day this year. My parents, Daniel and Bertha, and Melissa, Lynn, Madi, and Parker came over to celebrate. We were planning this fun BBQ but it rained and rained and rained so we had an indoor BBQ. Not quite as fun, but it still works right? We celebrated both of the girls' birthdays and good thing because they were getting a little jealous over each other's presents.

Isabelle turned the big 1 this year. Isabelle loves her sugar, I don't know where that came from? But she devoured her cupcake. We had to hold her hands back until we helped her blow out the candle because she was ready to dive in.

Lillian turned 3 this year. She informed us she needed a real cake because a cupcake is not a real cake. Now that she is 3 she believes she is officially a 'big girl,' which she reminds us of a lot.

Parker and Madi came to celebrate with us. The kids loved the cupcakes with lollipops in them which were supposed to look like flowers, but I think they just liked 2 treats instead of just one.

I think their favorite part was the presents. Isabelle got a twin babies for her birthday. Lillian was so excited, "one for me and one for Isabelle!" Well kind of we have to remind her to let Isabelle play with at least one of the babies. Lillian of course gave Isabelle the blue one and claimed the pink one for herself; she loves pink. Lillian got some princess puppets and a farm.

The big present was a play toy for outside. It was quite the ordeal getting it here. We had to go down to Murray to get it and it didn't fit in my parents Suburban so we had to dismantle it and haul it home. We had to stick pieces everyone on my mom's lap in between the girl's carseats. But it was worth it, they love playing on it.

After we got back from Boston we had Lillian's Birthday party with her friends. We had planned to have her party before we left but she ended up getting really sick with the stomach flu the night before the party. It was so sad. We had to postpone her party but it was still lots of fun. She wanted a Dora / Diego party so we had a Dora pinata, a rescue mission, Dora games, and all the Dora party favors.

My favorite part was the rescue mission. I thought it would take us a while to rescue a baby lamb and return it to his mother but it took all of 3 minutes. It was hilarious to watch them try to find the baby lamb and when they saw swiper they got really scared and said, 'swiper no swiping!' Lillian had lots of fun and hope the rest of the kids did too. She got a lot of fun presents, so thanks to all her friends and family for the great gifts.

Even though Isabelle had already had her party she still had a great time at Lillian's. Plus she got to play with all of Lillian's new toys.
