Labor Day Weekend 2010

This Labor Day weekend we packed it in. After a not so fun summer we tried to make up for it in September. Thankfully the weather cooperated and we had a lovely weekend.

Kevin drew out for a big elk hunt in September, so we went up Friday night to look for elk and to spend the night.

Melissa and Lynn and the kids joined us for dinner.

The girls love love love to camp. I love to camp also, as long as it is warm, which it was. I am definitely a fair weather camper!

While we were cleaning up camp Saturday morning, Isabelle got into the ashes and spread war paint on her face. The picture doesn't do it justice it looked just like war paint in real life.

We got home Saturday afternoon from camping and got all cleaned up, then we left for Heber City with our friends TJ and Katie to stay at their cabin. I told you we were packing in the fun!
They had swings underneath the deck of the cabin.
Jack kept asking TJ when he could shoot the wee-wee gun. Get it? He meant the bee bee gun. So funny. He had is own play gun too that Isabelle was a big fan of.

Well she definitely made Kevin proud. Now she wants a gun.

The cabin was in a huge community with other cabins so we had lots of roads to take walks on. The girls found sticks to carry around and to hit things with; including each other...

Forest baseball. Kevin was pitching them rocks that they tried to hit with their sticks. Maybe not the safest game ever played but apparently super fun.

We went on a little hike and it was so beautiful. Look at the view in back of us. It was gorgeous.

Isabelle had a melt down on the hike and didn't want to walk home.

Until we told her we were leaving without her and she could come or stay on the trail. Works every time doesn't it?

Monday we left the cabin and went to do the Alpine Slide in Park City. Lillian wasn't so keen on the idea of riding the lift to the top of the mountain. Neither was I actually... I guess I passed on my fear of heights. Sorry Lillian. Seriously, look at her face. There was real fear there.

As we started to see the end she perked up a little. Do you see my death grip around her? I'm telling you I don't like heights!

Isabelle and Kevin on the other hand are not so afraid of the heights. They were looking at us like, you wimps.

At the top Lillian didn't believe us when we told her how fun the slide was. You know after the death defying chair lift ride, she didn't have a lot of faith in us.

Isabelle was rearing to go. After we started to go down Lillian realized that she loved the Alpine Slide. We went really fast on the way down it was a blast. When we reached the bottom both girls were like, let's do that again! There were some tears.
After Park City we went to Bountiful for a family BBQ and my grandparents house. Then it was back home. We sought out to pack the fun it and pack it in we did.
